The transport company which is a subsidiary of Peace Group, Nigeria, was founded 3rd June 1996. Peace Mass Transit started operations with only 2 buses at UNN, Nsukka. However, the company currently boasts of a fleet of nearly 3,000 buses including Foton and Toyota Hummer buses

Peace Mass Transit is owned by Chief Sam Maduka Onyishi. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of the company and has been in charge of the affairs of the transport company since its inception. He is also a philanthropist and an astute businessman.
